How will the Foundation be funded?
Year One
At its meeting in December, the Board of Directors adopted a 'Year One' expenditure budget and decided personally to commit to funding a proportion of this Year 1 budget and to identifying you and other Founding Supporters to join them in this initial seed funding task.
This seed funding is now well on the way to being raised and will be used to undertake the essential steps which must be taken BEFORE it can credibly approach major corporations and other trusts and potential sources of financial support.
The Foundation's ongoing annual budget will be driven by its various campaigns and activities. It is proposed that major corporate sponsorship for the individual programme elements will be secured and that the recovery of the fixed overhead costs of the Foundation will be recovered by apportioning them to these various programme elements.
You are invited to join the Directors and other individuals who have already committed to being Founding Supporters by making a donation to the Foundation in Year 1.
CHARITABLE STATUS
The Foundation is making an application to the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The Directors will also be exploring the possibility of securing tax-exempt status for the Foundation in the USA and other countries likely to generate significant financial support.
For England & Wales, this means that once charitable status has been granted, the directors will be able to reclaim the tax on ALL donations made to it since the formation of The OPLAN Foundation - including yours.
